Poznan, once the capital of Poland, is located midway between Berlin and Warsaw. It is best known for renaissance architecture and its huge square in the Old Town considered by many to be one of Europe’s most beautiful. The city is one of Poland’s oldest and so it has many fabulous historic attractions including a magnificent cathedral. It is also an important cultural and business centre with modern shops, restaurants and bars.

Wizz Air offers 11 routes to seven countries from Poznan making it also serve as a well-connected city for ongoing travel. Seats on the new Birmingham route are available from just PLN 39 one-way including taxes and non-optional charges and can be purchased on wizzair.com

Tamara Mshvenieradze, Corporate Communications Manager at Wizz Air, said: “With the new route from Poznan to Birmingham, we are now offering flights to seven countries and 11 destinations from Poznan. The connection with such a market as Birmingham was long-awaited and with two weekly frequencies we expect this route to be among the favourites for our UK as well as Polish passengers. With tickets starting from as low as PLN 39 this is a perfect opportunity to travel away for a long weekend to the second largest city in the UK.”

William Pearson, Aviation Development Director, said: “Wizz Air started flying from Birmingham Airport in September this year, and has already carried more than 12,000 passengers through the airport with its low fare seats selling quickly to Eastern European destinations.

"Poznan is the third Polish city being served by the airline direct from Birmingham Airport. We’re confident that this will be a very popular route with our passengers as the city is one of Poland’s largest and most important business and leisure destinations making it excellent for city breaks, it also serves as a well-connected city for ongoing travel.”
