Monarch Launches Madrid and Lisbon from Birmingham Airport in their new Summer 2016 flying programme

Monarch today has announced its summer 2016 schedule from Birmingham Airport which includes new direct flights to Madrid and Lisbon.

The extended schedule also includes additional frequencies to many of the airline’s most popular destinations from Birmingham with flights at sociable times, allowing customers to escape for a weekend or a longer break to some of Europe’s most popular leisure destinations.

Portugal’s capital city, Lisbon, is a year round popular destination. Steeped in history and contemporary culture Lisbon is a city that will interest all ages. As well as the culture, it has beautiful beaches lining the silver coast so with its mild winters and long summers Portugal’s capital is a destination that appeals to all types of holiday makers.

Madrid is a lively, cosmopolitan city with fantastic food and wine. The Spanish capital has plenty to offer with museums, art galleries and a vibrant night life. Tasty tapas bars line the streets neighbouring the rich historical landmarks the city has to offer.

The schedule also features one additional weekly flight from Birmingham Airport to Lanzarote, Alicante, Rome, Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria for summer 2016. Malaga, Palma de Mallorca and Tenerife will see two more weekly flights.

We are delighted to announce that for Summer 2016 a ninth aircraft will be based at Birmingham allowing us to introduce two new destinations - Lisbon and Madrid – and many additional frequencies to some of our most popular destinations.”
