Birmingham International train station is just outside the airport, with the free and frequent Air-Rail link service, which takes passengers to the terminal in just minutes. You can also find public buses and coaches that travel from all over the country and drop you right at the airport.
To make the most of the many amenities the airport provides, we recommend getting to the airport at least 2 hours before your flight to Nantes. Arriving at Nantes Airport
Nantes Airport is the main international airport serving Nantes and is located in Bouguenais, 10km southwest of the city centre.
The ‘Navette Aéroport’ bus covers the route between the Airport and Nantes railway station, located in the city centre. The bus runs every 20 minutes on weekdays and every 30 minutes on weekends. Journey time is around 20 minutes and you will find the bus top located outside Hall 2.
If you would prefer a more direct route to your destination, taxi ranks are located in front of Hall 1 and will reach the city centre in 20 minutes. Car rental options are also available.

What to expect in Nantes
Nantes, a city on the Loire River in the Upper Brittany region of western France, has a long history as a port and industrial centre. Nowadays, it is a vibrant university city where history and the present day are fused to offer visitors art, culture and a wealth of fun activities – not to mention amazing French cuisine.

Culture in Nantes
The best way to see Nantes, would you believe it, is from the top of a giant mechanical elephant. 50 passengers can board the 40ft Grand Éléphant propelled by a recycled combine-harvester engine. On top of a very novel experience, you will get sweeping views across the city.
The city has several museums, including the newly refurbished natural history museum. Art lovers should head to the Musée des Beaux-Arts, whose works date from the 13th to the 19th century.
Culture vultures are generally spoilt for choice as Nantes has a vibrant live music scene and even has its own opera house. There is a full calendar of events including a carnival in April.
