Business Traveller Tips for Seasoned Flyers
Business Traveller Tips for Seasoned Flyers
You’ve finished your presentation, you’ve booked your meetings and have ensured your luggage complies with airline guidelines - at times preparing for a business trip feels likes a job in itself. To make sure that your journey goes as smoothly as possible, follow our Business Traveller Tips to help you arrive to your destination refreshed and ready for business:
Drive to the Airport
When you’re going away for business, you want a hassle-free trip that gets you to your destination as effortlessly as possible. Omit the hassle of getting to the airport by pre-booking a carpark space and driving there yourself.
Car Parks 1, 2 and 3 provide under cover parking and are within two minutes’ walk of the terminal building, making them a very convenient choice.
To make it even easier, choose valet parking and we’ll do the parking for you.
Pre-book online for a guaranteed parking space. For more information, visit our Parking Information page.
The Express Lane
Ever wished you had a separate lane that would help you pass airport security more quickly? The Express Lane allows business travellers to do precisely that. This separate lane is designed to enable passengers to pass through the security area faster and reduce waiting times, meaning less-stress and more time to relax before you take off.
Business travellers can either pre-book access online or can pay at the entrance to the Express Lane. Once your booking has been confirmed, simply show your barcode and booking confirmation to the office at the entry to the Express Lane to gain entry and avoid those queues.
Pre-booking online is just £4 per person - book now!
Regus Express Lounge
Complementing the Express Lane is the Regus Express Lounge. Modern business professionals now work in a more agile and flexible fashion than ever, creating a need for professional work and meeting spaces for people on the go.
Regus’s professional business lounge includes workstations (ThinkPods), comfy seating with laptop stands, secure WI-FI, printers and scanners, as well as complimentary refreshments and administrative support for those last-minute preparations before you board your flight.
Situated within a short walk of the check-in and arrivals area, you can order your fully-equipped workspace from as little as £8.
Technology
Laptops, tablets and mobiles are now indispensable technologies for business travellers, but that indispensability can prove to be problematic if the technology fails. Not to worry though, Birmingham Airport has a number of facilities for such eventualities.
If your mobile battery falls flat while you’re waiting for your flight, you can find charging facilities in Dixons Travel, as well as a bank of chargers in the Giraffe restaurant.
If you are unable to connect to the internet you can also take advantage of Birmingham Airport’s free WIFI, for a set duration. And don’t panic if you have forgotten your charger, adapter or headphones, Dixons Travel has a range of replacements available to purchase.
World Duty Free Store
Time is a precious commodity for business travellers, but that doesn’t mean birthdays, anniversaries and special occasions can be put on hold.
If you’re unable to grab a spare moment to purchase that gift for your loved one, we have just the answer. Birmingham Airport’s World Duty Free Store has over 17,000 products and offers everything from popular cosmetics and fragrances to liquor and confectionery, all at tax free prices.
Business Attire
Every business traveller understands the importance of looking the part, as well as acting the part. The Next store offers smart casual attire for those inevitable work-to-dinner situations. You can also pick up matching accessories at Next, including bags, purses and belts. The Kurt Geiger store offers covetable footwear and accessories, pairing aspiration with accessibility.
Wining and Dining
Meeting a client in the right frame of mind is essential for making the right first impression. Relaxing at the airport before a flight can help you do just that and Birmingham Airport has a selection of bars and restaurants to choose from to help you recharge and unwind. Enjoy food, cocktails and wine at All Bar One or even a glass of prosecco at Bottega.
Early morning flight? Pick up a strong coffee and a hearty breakfast in the departure lounge at Costa or Pret to give you energy for the day ahead.
