Employee Daily Contact Testing

Birmingham Airport Daily Contact Testing

Birmingham Airport is collecting your personal data. When we collect personal data, we are legally obliged to provide you with certain information, it is called the “Right to be Informed”. That information is contained in the below Notice. If any of the information we provide to you is not clear enough, there are contact details for Birmingham Airport’s Data Protection Officer further down this Notice, please do not hesitate to make contact and ask for further information.

1. Why we need it - the purpose of processing
Birmingham Airport requires you to inform your line manager if you have been notified by the NHS Test and Trace or the Covid-19 app to self-isolate. This can then result in an employee becoming a participant in the Daily Contact Testing (DCT) whereby participants can be involved in daily lateral flow testing for 7 days and participants with a negative result will be given 24-hour release from self-isolation until their next test. Once the line manager is aware that you have been notified to self-isolate, if requested, they can sign you up to take part in DCT to allow you to carry on working without self-isolating. If you obtain a positive result, you will be required to go home and self-isolate and you must inform your manager to report the absence.  At some point we understand that government will not require DCT for people who have been double
vaccinated. At this point we will also need to process data about your vaccination status.

2. Why we’re allowed to process your personal information in this way – the legal basis

Article 6 condition – Legitimate interest - the processing is necessary for your legitimate interests or the legitimate interests of a third party.
Article 9 condition – Public interest – processing is necessary for reasons of public interest in the
area of public health.

3. Who we will share your personal information with?
Your line manager will inform the Department for Health and Social Care (DHSC) in the event of a positive test. The airport is required to inform Public Health England in the result of a positive test result. Express Test who are processing the test data on our behalf for the tests will inform NHS test and trace.
