Community Trust Fund
Applications are now invited for the next round of grants, which will now be made in November 2024.
The deadline for receipt of completed applications will be Friday 27th September 2024.
If you would like to apply for an award, please read the following and e-mail the Secretary with the information requested.
The Birmingham Airport Community Trust Fund makes grants from £500 to £5,000 to small community-based organisations. Core funded directly by the Airport Company and topped-up by any penalties levied on airlines breaching our noise limits, grants are awarded by a board of independent Trustees representing local authorities and the Airport Consultative Committee. Typically, the Trust Fund usually makes grants of around £100,000 each year and a total of over £1.8 million has been awarded to date. To find out if your group may be eligible, follow these steps:
First, click here for a list of postcodes within the Trust Fund’s Area of Benefit.
If the address from where your project operates is on this list, you may be eligible. If not, then we are sorry, but your project is not eligible.
Next, take a look at the following questions:
1) Does your organisation have a Constitution or set of rules?
Why this is important: The Trustees will need to understand your organisation’s Aims and Objectives.
2) Does your organisation produce annual accounts?
Why this is important: The Trustees need to understand how sustainable your organisation is. Even if it is a small project or a new group, you must be able to provide even a basic Income and Expenditure Account.
3) Is your organisation locally managed and operated?
Why this is important: The Trustees will not make awards to organisations which operate nationally or internationally, even where an individual programme is delivered within the Area of Benefit.
If you can answer ‘yes’ to all of these questions, your project may be eligible.
Next, take a look at the Community Trust Guidelines which will explain how the Trust Fund operates and how to apply. You are strongly advised to do this as it may save wasting your time and ours if what you are requesting is not eligible under the Trust Fund criteria.
Finally, having read the guidelines, if you believe your project is eligible you can request an application pack by e-mailing the Trust Fund Secretary at:
andy.holding@birminghamairport.co.uk
Your e-mail must include:
- The name of your project or organisation
- The address and postcode from where the project operates
- A brief outline of what your project is about
- What you are applying for funding for - you must be specific here; 'to fund our project to reduce social isolation..' is not sufficient. We need to know exactly what you would spend the money on
You are also advised to read our Privacy Notice here.
We look forward to hearing from you.
PLEASE NOTE WE ARE UNABLE TO AWARD FUNDING FOR RECURRING EXPENSES SUCH AS COACHING FEES, SALARIES, RENTS, UTILITIES ETC
